well - she's been so good to me, but all good things must come to an end. i've found someone better which means this 'ol blog has a new home. she still enjoys the occasional visitor, so feel free to stop by anytime at:
"...my bags are packed... i'm ready to go..."
workin on some new changes. check back soon...
oh - and don't forget to vote... before it's too late!
as one of the many changes in the pipeline, i need some audience participation to help me with a big decision. so don't be shy - everyone has an opinion. what's yours?
"There are many fine things which you mean to do some day, under what you think will be more favorable circumstances. But the only time that is surely yours is the present. Hence this is the time to speak the word of appreciation and sympathy, to do the generous deed, to forgive the fault of a thoughtless friend, to sacrifice self a little more for others. Today is the day in which to express your noblest qualities of mind and heart, to do at least one worthy thing which you have long postponed, and to use your God-given abilities for the enrichment of some less fortunate fellow traveler. Today you can make your life significant and worthwhile. The present is yours to do with it as you will."

well, as valentine's day has come and gone i was reminded of a recent session. todd & laurie are just such a great pair. check out how laurie just let loose for me - she was totally workin it! can't wait until june to celebrate their becoming one. stay tuned for their invitation that's currently in the works. love is a wonderful thing. when was the last time you told those special people how much they meant to you? don't wait. do it today.
there's times i wonder how my family ever ended up in michigan. that thought especially crosses my mind come february. then i get that call in the morning that my school is closed. suddenly, all my frustrations about the coldness seem to disappear. god bless snow days... even if this is my 4th one in 3 weeks. they're just as great as when i was a kid. well no, they're actually... better.
so, to prove to you that i accomplished something on my day off, here are some pics from a recent session. meet keaton. these were to celebrate his first year of life.
i loved this idea. it's never to late to start!
arrow of time
no.... not the TV show. that did cross my mind though as i was typing it. here are some pics of my friend jen & her hubby. from high school, to college, to jobs, to weddings, to babies, to whatever.... i was again reminded that life goes on. i remember meeting jenni at basketball camp back in the day. she was the small town girl with all the moves weaving the ball between her legs. everything she threw up went in the basket. little did she know that we all secretly wanted to break her legs in the locker room to relieve us from our inability to play the game, but that's beside the point :). who ever would have guessed that she'd become such a big part of my life. we've been through a lot of good times and i'd be lying if i denied that some of these pics may have choked me up a bit. i'm so proud of who she's become... and can't wait for her to add "mom" to the list. thank you for sharing your life so freely jen. you never cease to amaze me with your many talents.
ok. i'm done being sappy now... here she is in all her prego glory:
while reading the sunday press tonight, i came across this grand rapids mom who came up with this really cool idea. while her daughter was playing with her stuffed animals, she commented that they needed something to eat. her mom answered that question by making play food from felt. forget having to ever worry about your kids chucking the plastic food at each other again! i checked out her website and was truly impressed.

whether you need a brown bag lunch, grandma's breakfast, or the perfect veggie pita, she's got it!
what's an aunt to do when she's babysitting? hmmmm.... what could be more fun than a photo shoot?! meet chloe & zack. there's nothing better they'd rather do than help me out. help me test out my NEW CAMERA that is!!! i've upgraded to this totally fabulous camera. it's a photographers dream. i still pinch myself every time i look at it. anyways, here's some of the fun from this morning.... i think it's safe to say that i'm the favorite aunt :)
sorry about the lack of blogging lately. the busy holidays held true this year especially. but rest assured, the new year is going to bring lots of new goodies for kristinkay studios. i'm really excited to see where this year takes things. be sure to stay tuned for the unveiling of some of the sweetness soon to come...
until then, enjoy some pics from an old session...
mr. t sure kept me on my toes, but talking about his girlfriend seemed to catch his attention for a minute or so.
